The star has donated the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the MVT, which operates to protect the UK's independent live music spots.

He was presented with the award on October 16 as his third album the album was declared the best record of the last 12 months.

Fender has opted to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in appreciation of the essential function small stages fulfilled in his initial steps.

"As an artist couldn't be pursuing this success if it weren't for all the performances I did around the region, and beyond, when I was just getting going," said the artist. "These spaces are iconic, but they are struggling."

Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – roughly 16 percent of the entire UK sector.

Over the past year, major artists including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which supports independent venues.

He also joined in, collecting more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous small stages across the UK.

These funds helped venues that were dealing with possible closure due to difficulties caused by water damage, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, legal disputes and neighbor objections.

Other venues received financial assistance in improving amenities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted performers and fans.

"The idea that money from performances in major spaces backs the local stages, where it all starts for musicians like me, is just logical," the star has stated.

Fender is among several artists to donate his honor winnings to charitable organizations.

Back when they won the prize in 1996 for their record the album, frontman Jarvis Cocker declared that the band would donate their cash to the organization War Child.

During 2002, artist Ms Dynamite shared her award among multiple charities, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.

"Additionally, I gave a thousand pounds to my local community centre, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was growing up and they required better apparatus," she explained to outlets.

In recent years, Ezra Collective gave their prize money to the youth organization that supported their act, alongside other local music groups.

And winners that year they donated their winnings to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was diagnosed the illness.

"Receiving the award was quite enough," remarked singer Heather Small. "The prize was the bonus but we could do without the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our victory impacted somebody else's life."

Recently, the trust shared it had rescued a couple of small stages in south-east England, by placing them under local control.

One venue in Southampton and the second in the city were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is funded by a national body and music fans who acquire "stakes" in the buildings.
